Janie’s background blends training and experience in Pure Art and Design, including exhibition and window design, interior design, floristry, model making, cake decorating, and sugar work. Her passion as an artist has always centered on bold color and large scale, which she believes hold deep therapeutic value for both the viewer and herself.

Her love of painting truly flourished after moving to the Canadian Rockies when her two boys were young. Inspired by the ever-changing landscapes shaped by weather, time of day, and season, she found herself immersed in nature’s beauty. During this period, while navigating her firstborn’s serious cognitive and health challenges, Janie discovered that art became both her therapy and her path to healing. She later realized her work could provide the same sense of solace for others, leading her to share pieces in hospices as a form of art therapy, as well as exhibiting in galleries and selling worldwide.In recent years, Janie has connected strongly with resin art, which she feels reflects her free and playful spirit and her desire to flow through life without constraint. By mixing resin with acrylics, alcohol inks, and glitter, she creates vibrant, dynamic works where the art seems to take on a life of its own..
